Ricky Hui R.I.P

Today Ricky Hui died from a heart attack, he was a seriously funny guy.

I only have to think of his face for him to make me laugh, he leaves behind a great body of work, from my first exposure to him in Mr.Vampire to his fantastic films with his brothers. It's hard to think of any other Hong Kong actor that has made me laugh so hard.

Aw man, that's a bummer. I know I've seen this guy in a few films, but I can't think of the names at this moment. He looks too young though to have a heart attack. Sad.

Way too young. He was only 65. "Chicken and Duck Talk" is one of my favourite comedies, not just from HK but of all films! And he was so funny in "Haunted Cop Shop 2". So sad. RIP, Ricky. :(

Sad news indeed. I realize that Ricky wasn't as famous on his own as his brothers, Michael and Sam. But I will say that his movie appearances gave me a lot of laughs and cheer all the same.

Thanks for your post. This is sad for all his fans around the world. He was a really reliable source of quiet humor in the movies he performed in.

You can see my review in his honor here.

RIP Ricky Hui.

Thanks for all your comments. It's great to see how Ricky was so well loved by his fans. I'm going to watch The Private eyes this weekend as a celebration of him.

As a fan, I grew up watching his movies and even today they never failed to make me laugh. It is sad that he is gone too soon yet he leaves a lasting legacy on Hong Kong's film and comedy industry.
