Trailer For Statham And De Niro Together In Killer Elite

I was pretty hard on the Jason Statham remake of The Mechanic but that was only because it was rubbish! So when I saw his name attached to a film called Killer elite, I thought he was trying to ruin another seventies action movie, Peckinpah's The Killer elite. Fortunately this is not a remake of that film and from the trailer looks like it maybe really fun. It's actually an adaptation of Ranulph Fiennes novel The Feathermen.

Add in Robert DeNiro (Okay,so his record isn't exactly stellar lately but he was fun in Machete), Clive Owen (complete with one of the best/worst staches I've seen for sometime) and Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah from Chuck) as eye candy and I'm there! Released in the US on September 23rd.

Looking forward to this! Should be a blast! Owen's stache is hilarious.

Yeah I may grow myself one of those come release time!

We were just discussing this in work today and we all agreed De Niro had quite an incredible run of films from Mean Streets right up to Heat, then came Jackie Brown and after that things become noticebly patchy. I'm looking thru his filmography now and I'm puzzled by things like Godsend, Hide and Seek, The Good Shepard, Righteous Kill - all films I feel totally indifferent about...

That would be cool if you grew the stache before it comes out! I hope to have similar Statham 5'oclock shadow before the movie comes out also.

Wes, I think everyone's puzzled by those choices and if they aren't they should be! I do think there were a few dodgy picks from him in the period you mention but even in these his performance was the best thing in the film.

Enough of the negatives though, what is your favourite DeNiro aside from the iconic roles? I'll start the ball rolling with the awesome Jack Walsh from Midnight Run.
